Canada Winter Games
Halifax, February 20th – 25th
Congratulations to our 4 Club Members and 2 Oakville Alumni Members who qualified to participate in the Canada Winter Games. This consisted of the Best Skaters in Canada – 18 years of age and under. Oakville qualified more Canada Winter Game Participants than any other Club in Canada.
Izabella Z. won Gold in the Women’s Relay. Izabella finished 10th in the 500m; 14th in the 1000m; 10th in the 1500m; and 11th in the 3000m out of a group of 42 Women.
Charlie C. won Silver in the Men’s Relay. Charlie finished 7th in the 500m; 11th in the 1000m, 9th in the 1500m; and 13th in the 3000m out of a group of 52 Men.
Marcelo G. (age 15) won Silver in the Men’s Relay, Marcelo finished 20th in the 500m; 12th in the 1000m; 16th in the 1500m and 16th in the 3000m out of a group of 52 Men.
Helios H. won Silver in the Men’s Relay. Helios finished 11th in the 500m; 13th in the 1000m; 11th in the 1500m and 12th in the 3000m out of a Group of 52 Men.
Our two Alumni members Alex G. and Connor W. participated in the Canada Winter Games in Long Track. This was the first time for Alex competing in Long Track.
Alex finished 20th in the 500m; 19th in the 1000m; 15th in the 1500m and 6th in the 3000m out of 34 skaters.
Connor finished 24th in the 500m; 22nd in the 1000m; 19th in the 1500m and 12th in the 3000m out of 34 skaters.
Congratulations to Izabella Z. and H. He who qualified to compete at the 2022-2023 Short Track Canada Cup Final this weekend in Quebec City.
