2024 Ontario Elite Short Track Championships and Masters Championship
Oakville – March 2-3, 2024
The Oakville Speed Skating Club hosted the 2024 Ontario Elite Short Track Championship on March 2-3, 2024.
Over 70 Ontario’s Elite Skaters competed at this Championship as well as 14 Master Skaters.
Congratulations to our Medal Winners
Izabella Z. – Gold in the very competitive Women’s Open A Division. Izabella achieved a stunning sweep of all distances, achieving 4000 points.
Emilie C. – Silver – Emilie is one of the youngest members in the Open A Division. She also won Gold Medal for her Age Division – Neo Jr. – 14
Dora S. – won a Gold Medal for her Age Division – Neo Jr. – 15
Ainsley L. – won a Gold Medal for her Age Division – Neo Sr – 19
Honourable Mention:
Marcelo G. – finished 4th, but only competed on Saturday. Marcelo dominated the 500m and 1500m on Saturday, winning outright. Marcelo is an Oakville Alumni skater who is currently skating in Montreal CRCE Program. Marcelo also won the SSO Rick Morrison Trophy for skating the fastest 500m time in Ontario this season.
Ryder T. – 14 years of age finished 5th in Open Men B Division against skaters in their 20s
Lise B. finished 6th in the Masters Division.
